Abstract
This paper investigated the impact of age on the causes of vesico-vaginal fistula (VVF) diseases and examined the levels of other factors. The data were obtained through a questionnaire. Percentage, descriptive statistics, and chi-square was employed in the data to determine the impact of age on VVF in Kebbi State. Furthermore, the research work employed logistic regression and odds ratio to determine the likelihood of the impact of age on VVF. The result of the analysis from the chi-square showed that age is a significant factor and is associated with the occurrence of VVF. Respondents aged 30 and above showed a higher proportion of responses, suggesting a potential age-related impact on VVF. The results further indicated that they suffered from recurrent urinary tract infections and dysmenorrhoea. The odds ratio for age was 0.668, suggesting a 33.2% decrease in the likelihood of experiencing VVF for each one-unit increase in age. Moreover, the study revealed that ages at marriage and ages at when the respondents experienced (VVF) are all significant and has a predetermining impact on the cause of vesico-vaginal fistula in the study area. The researcher recommended special counseling and enlightenment programs on VVF and the ages of the respondents as the leading cause of the menace in the area.
